Counter-Strike 2 update improves spectating, performance, and map details
Valve has released a small but useful update for CS2, focusing on fixes for spectator mode, performance stability, and minor map tweaks.
Fixes for viewers and performance
This update fixes an issue where switching targets in first-person spectator mode would reset weapon model animations, making spectating less smooth during matches. This should improve the viewing experience for both players and broadcast viewers.
Valve also addressed a performance issue related to physics calculations performed far from the map’s start. In certain situations, this caused unnecessary performance drops, and the fix should result in more stable gameplay.

Several small but important changes have been made:
- The boundaries for players around the new drop have been adjusted, improving movement consistency.
- The boundaries for grenades around the e-box and old drop have been refined, reducing unexpected bounces.
Poseidon
- The map has been updated to the latest version from the Community Workshop, bringing it in line with the latest community improvements.
While it’s not a major update, it does focus on polish and stability, continuing Valve’s steady approach to improving CS2 behind the scenes.
