How Skin Delivery Works at ReloadSkins

How Skin Delivery Works at ReloadSkins

When you buy a skin on ReloadSkins, it doesn’t arrive as a download or an email. It is delivered as a Steam trade offer that you accept, after which it appears in your Steam inventory. This guide explains how that process works, what you need to do, what can slow it down and what to check if your item hasn’t arrived.

How delivery works, step by step

  1. You enter your trade link at checkout. The checkout asks for the “Trade link of the account that will receive the item”. This is your Steam Trade URL.
  2. You pay and your payment is confirmed. Payment is by credit or debit card, and prices are in EUR.
  3. The item is sent automatically. Once payment is confirmed, delivery is automated: your item is sent as a Steam trade offer to the trade link you entered.
  4. You accept the offer in Steam. The item only moves to your inventory once you accept the trade offer and confirm it.
  5. The item appears in your inventory. From there you can equip it and enjoy it in game.

The key point is step four. Delivery isn’t complete until you accept the offer, so keep an eye on Steam after you pay.

Why your trade link matters

Your trade link is the address for your delivery. The automated system sends the trade offer to exactly the link you entered, so if the link is wrong or out of date, the offer can’t reach the right account.

You can find your Trade URL in Steam (the client, the app or the website) by going to Inventory, then Trade Offers, then “Who can send me Trade Offers?”, and looking under “Third-Party Sites”. A few tips:

  • Copy and paste the link rather than typing it.
  • Make sure it belongs to the Steam account you want the item in.
  • Don’t create a new Trade URL after ordering and before your item arrives. Creating a new link invalidates the old one.

Incorrect Steam details supplied at checkout aren’t covered by the refund policy, so it’s worth double-checking. Our guide on finding your Steam Trade URL walks through it in detail.

Accepting the trade offer

When the offer arrives, open your incoming trade offers in Steam, which you’ll find under Inventory, then Trade Offers, and check it before you accept. The item in the offer should match your order: the same weapon, finish, exterior and any tags such as StatTrak™.

Then accept it and confirm the trade in the official Steam mobile app. Keep Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, Steam’s security feature in that app, enabled, and only confirm trades there after checking the items. Try to accept promptly, as failing to accept the trade offer in time is not covered by the refund policy.

Stay alert for look-alike offers. One known scam uses phishing sites to trick people into logging in, then uses their Steam Web API key to cancel genuine trade offers and send a similar-looking one instead. If an offer is cancelled unexpectedly or something about an offer doesn’t look right, check the API key page in your Steam account settings and revoke any key you didn’t create. And only ever enter your Steam login on Steam’s own website, in a genuine browser window showing its official address.

What can delay delivery

Delivery is automated, but Steam-side restrictions or trade holds can delay it, so exact timings can’t be promised. These are the main things to be aware of:

  • Steam Guard. Without the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator enabled, Steam can hold trades for up to 15 days.
  • Account restrictions. Steam restrictions, bans or account limits can delay delivery or stop a trade from going through.
  • Trade protection and cooldowns. Steam can apply trade protection or cooldown periods to recently traded items, commonly 7 days. Check the item’s status in your Steam inventory to see whether this applies.

The simplest way to avoid the delays you can control is to prepare before you check out: enable Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, copy your current Trade URL and make sure your account has no trading restrictions. For a closer look at how holds work, read our guide to Steam trade holds.

If your item hasn’t arrived

If you’ve paid and haven’t seen your item, work through these checks first:

  1. Open your incoming trade offers in Steam and look for an offer you haven’t accepted yet.
  2. Compare the trade link you entered at checkout with your current Trade URL. If you’ve created a new one since, the old link no longer works.
  3. Check that Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator is enabled and whether Steam is showing a trade hold.
  4. Check your Steam account for any restrictions or limits on trading.

If you still can’t find it, get in touch through the contact page. Include your order ID, a short description of the problem and screenshots, such as your Steam trade offers page, to help the team look into it. Requests for a refund on an item that wasn’t delivered need to be made within 7 days of purchase, so don’t leave it too long before getting in touch.

Key takeaways

  • After payment is confirmed, your item is sent automatically as a Steam trade offer to the trade link you entered.
  • You must accept the offer in Steam, and confirm it in the official mobile app, for delivery to complete.
  • Keep Steam Guard enabled, as Steam can otherwise hold trades for up to 15 days.
  • Steam restrictions and trade holds can cause delays, so exact timings can’t be promised.
  • If your item hasn’t arrived, check your trade offers and trade link, then contact support with your order ID.
